Leaker reveals Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro details months before release
Digital Chat Station has shared a few details about the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, likely the first members of next year's Xiaomi 14 series. Reportedly codenamed 'Houji' and 'Shennong' after Chinese mythological figures, the pair have already been seen running internal MIUI builds. Similarly, just over a month has passed since GSMChina spotted Chinese and Global versions of both models on IMEI databases.
Now, Digital Chat Station has hinted that the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro will have slightly larger battery capacities than the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, respectively. Supposedly, Xiaomi is developing its smaller flagship around a 4,860 mAh battery capacity, an 8% increase over the 4,500 mAh battery that powers the Xiaomi 13. By contrast, the Xiaomi 14 Pro is said to feature roughly a 4% larger battery than its predecessor at 5,000 mAh versus 4,820 mAh.
The leaker adds that the Xiaomi 14 will be capable of 90 W wired charging, up from 67 W with the Xiaomi 13. Incidentally, this would be the same wattage that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra provides via its USB 3.2 Type-C port, reinforcing the notion that the Xiaomi 14 will receive this faster USB standard too. Meanwhile, Digital Chat Station implies that the Xiaomi 14 Pro will recharge its 5,000 mAh battery at up to 120 W, matching the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Naturally, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro will rely on Qualcomm's next-generation flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which Qualcomm will present at the end of October.
