It was already rumored months ago that Xiaomi would beat Apple's record thin display edges on the iPhone 15 Pro with the Xiaomi 14 Pro, and now a leaker not only provided a concrete figure on this but also on many other display specs that suggest a comprehensive display upgrade compared to the Xiaomi 13 Pro.

This year, the Xiaomi 13 easily beats the Xiaomi 13 Pro in what some consider a very important feature: display bezels. 2024 though, and in China already starting as early as end of October 2023, the Pro model of the Xiaomi 14 camera flagships will make up ground in this respect, leakers already promised months ago. The manufacturer wants to leave just 1 mm of bezels on either side of the Xiaomi 14 Pro display, the rest is supposed to be usable display area, which is now also underlined by the Indian leaker Kartikey Singh, who also mentioned many other display parameters (see below).

Already a few days ago a record brightness of a maximum of 3,000 nits was tipped, which would make Xiaomi a record-breaker on paper, although this value obviously has to be tested and is not particularly suitable for everyday use. In principle, the following applies to all clues from this leak: A bit of salt is still advisable because hard evidence, such as spec sheets or official promo material from Xiaomi is not available yet. With the Xiaomi 14 series, the Chinese want to completely move away from Samsung displays for the first time and rely on the latest AMOLED material from TCL CSOT instead, called C8 in the Pro model.

According to the leaker, the Xiaomi 14 Pro uses a 6.7-inch micro quad-curved display with QHD resolution, LTPO backplane and 1-120 Hz dynamic refresh range, the panel itself is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and supports high PWM dimming values of more than 2000 Hz. HDR10+, Dolby Vision and Pro Color Tuning are also mentioned. Besides the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 the Xiaomi 14 Pro will also rely on updated Leica cameras, a theoretical downgrade from the 1-inch sensor in the Xiaomi 13 Pro is supposed to be offset by a few upgrades, such as an apparently 4-stop variable aperture and a better macro telephoto camera.
