Xiaomi 13 Ultra lands in Europe with flagship pricing
Xiaomi has announced European pricing and availability for the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the premier model in the Xiaomi 13 series. For some reason, Xiaomi has decided against selling certain colour options outside China. Unsurprisingly, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra Limited Edition will remain a Chinese exclusive. The standard white colour option is missing, though, with Olive Green and Ultra Black the two options available.
For reference, Xiaomi has not changed any key Xiaomi 13 Ultra specifications from its Chinese release. As such, the handset combines the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0 flash storage and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 90 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. Additionally, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has a 120 Hz AMOLED display and four rear-facing cameras. Please see our original launch article for more details.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra officially starts in Europe for €1,499. However, some retailers are already selling the handset at a reduced rate, putting it on par with the Xiaomi 13 Pro. While the Xiaomi 13 Ultra costs more than the cheapest iPhone 14 Pro Max or Galaxy S23 Ultra, Xiaomi's competitors start with less RAM and storage.
For example, Samsung offers the Galaxy S23 Ultra with a minimum of 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. By contrast, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is only available with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, which Samsung charges €1,579 for with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be officially available in Europe on June 12, starting at 10:00 CET (09:00 UTC). Xiaomi has not confirmed pricing and release dates for other regions yet, though.
