Android 14 has now reached platform stability, courtesy of its third beta, ahead of its full release later this year. Beta 3 brings several new features to Android 14, as well as support for the Pixel 7a.

The final version of Android 14 remains months away, with Google expected to start releasing stable builds in August or September. In the meantime, the company has published Beta 3, which is available across Pixel smartphones from the Pixel 4a 5G onwards. Beta 3 is also the first build that has supported the Pixel 7a following the latter's release last month.

As always, you can test Google's latest beta build after enrolling your Pixel on the Android Beta program. Please note, Android 14 Beta 3 contains various bugs, including fingerprint reader instability for certain models. Nonetheless, Android 14 has now reached platform stability, meaning that developers can now develop and tweak apps with the same APIs and app-facing behaviours that will ship in stable Android 14 builds.

Additionally, Beta 3 introduces numerous new features, such as revised animations and more lock screen customisation options. Moreover, Google has reworked some UI elements to improve the proliferation of its Material You design language. While the full list of changes are too long to post here, Mishaal Rahman has shared an extensive rundown on Twitter, embedded below.
