Google Pixel Fold: Google quietly pushes delivery dates of early pre-orders into July and August
It seems that Google is struggling to fulfil Pixel Fold pre-orders. Initially, the company gave June 26-27 delivery dates, just over a six-week lead time from the device's announcement on May 10. Subsequently, Google sold out of 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage options, which it has since replenished on its website.
However, there are numerous reports that Google has pushed early pre-orders twice, first to June 28-July 7 and then to July 5-10. On the other hand, others who placed slightly later pre-orders have had theirs moved up from early August to sometime in July. For some reason, Google has done all this without contacting customers. Instead, it has elected to silently change dates within its account page.
As such, it is unclear when pre-orders will begin shipping. Conversely, third-party retailers like Amazon maintain that pre-orders will commence on June 20, albeit without outlining when units will start shipping. If the Google Store is anything to go by, third-party retailer may be unable to fulfil orders until mid-August in some markets, likely after Samsung begins shipping the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5.
