New Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 leaks contain full specs and official press render as release date grows closer

Occasional leaker Yogesh Brar has shared a complete specs list for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, which is unsurprisingly headed by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (for Galaxy) SoC that had previously been leaked via benchmark runs. In addition, there is a 7.6-inch QXGA+ AMOLED panel that can support a 120 Hz refresh rate for the main display while the cover display is a 6.2-in HD+ AMOLED panel. Buyers of the Galaxy Z Fold5 will be treated to 12 GB RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB storage options. So, apart from the chipset, there aren’t any huge differences between the incoming model and 2022’s Z Fold4 to be found here.

The main Z Fold5 camera setup reads as 50 MP + 12 MP + 12 MP with a 4 MP under-display camera and 10 MP exterior camera taking up support roles. Android 13 with a OneUI skin will be the operating system, and the specs leak finishes with mention of a 4,400-mAh battery and 25 W charging support. For those not familiar with the Galaxy Z Fold4 specs, it’s worth noting our review, as it shows just how few changes appear to be in place for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5. At this stage, it would seem that the device would be a better future purchase for users who are not upgrading from the previous model.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, which could be announced on July 26 and has been rumored to have a US and Canada release date of August 11, has also turned up in an alleged press image. Yet again, anyone hoping for a major redesign will be left feeling disappointed, as it appears there is little to discern between the 2023 Galaxy Z Fold and the 2022 model. The image shows the Galaxy Z Fold5 dressed in blue, and as pointed out by MySmartPrice, perhaps the biggest design difference fans can hope for is the apparent greater screen real estate it offers thanks to the presence of slimmer bezels.
