Samsung has refreshed the W series, its luxurious alternative to the Galaxy Z series that it sells globally. As always, Samsung has started selling its latest W series models in China first. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether the company will offer either the W24 or W24 Flip globally.
According to Samsung's product page, the W24 and W24 Flip still rely upon aluminium frames, albeit ones that it has given a shiny gold finish. With that said, both models have ceramic back panels, which should prove more scratch-resistant than the matte glass Samsung uses in the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5. For reference, Samsung has also inscribed a small logo in each W24 series model that translates as 'Heart of the World'. The W24 and W24 Flip are technically the same as their Galaxy Z counterparts though, with no hardware changes whatsoever to befit the former's more premium styling.
Instead, Samsung has also themed any bundled accessories, such as the W24's S Pen. Similarly, the W24 and W24 Flip ship with exclusive animations and wallpapers, plus adapted boxes to make both feel more premium than the Galaxy Z Fold5 or Galaxy Z Flip5. For reference, Samsung charges CNY 9,999 (~US$1,375) for the W24 Flip, which it equips with 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. By contrast, the W24 retails for CNY 16,999 (~US$2,337) with 16 GB of RAM but also 1 TB of built-in storage.
