Tecno has introduced the Phantom V Flip, arguably the second mid-range clamshell foldable after the Motorola Razr 40. Like Motorola's effort, Tecno has forgone a flagship chipset, which can be found in the Razr 40 Ultra (Razr+ in North America) and the Galaxy Z Flip5. Instead, the Phantom V Flip relies upon the Dimensity 8050, a 6 nm SoC powered by ARM Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 CPU cores that MediaTek has paired with a Mali-G77 GPU.
Arguably, the most striking element of the Phantom V Flip is its cover display, which Tecno surrounds with 64 MP primary and 13 MP ultra-wide-angle cameras. For reference, the small cover display measures 1.32-inches across and outputs at 466 x 466 pixels with 800 nits peak brightness. Meanwhile, a 6.9-inch display can be found on the device's inside that has a 1080p resolution with 1,000 nits peak brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Moreover, Tecno installs a 4,000 mAh battery that contributes to the device's 194 g weight, which the Phantom V Flip can recharge at up to 45 W. Currently, the Phantom V Flip is only available in India for INR 49,999 (~US$601) with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. However, the company also intends to offer the handset in Europe for €699 with the same storage combination.
