The Pova 5 Pro debuted with Tecno's 68W Ultra Fast Charging tech; however, the OEM is now thought to have rounded this up in the smartphone's impending successor. The 6 Pro 5G might also sport a RAM upgrade and an extra rear camera on its Mobile World Congress Barcelona (MWC) 2024 launch.

There is little enough actual evidence that the 5G smartphone in Tecno's latest FCC submission is in fact named the Pova 6 Pro. On the other hand, it is depicted as having a distinctive angular camera hump quite like that of the 5 Pro, except that the lens circles have been re-arranged to look more like that of an iPhone, albeit one that has sprouted a new, smaller round cut-out that might be a 3rd rear camera.

In addition, there are other signs that this device, code-named "LI9" in the filing, is MWC debut-worthy thanks to a new spec. It seems Tecno will unleash up to 10V/7A (or 70W) Ultra Fast Charging soon, according to the FCC, which confirms that the upcoming handset from the brand as compatible with the same technology in the form of a new U700TSA power brick.

That mild yet potentially memorable upgrade might be joined by a bump up to a 12GB RAM/256 internal storage configuration for the 6 Pro, whereas its putative forebear is only available as an 8GB smartphone.

The Tecno LI9 makes a fairly compelling argument for it to launch as the Pova 6 Pro at its FCC registration. (Source: FCC via MySmartPrice)
