MagyarRobot dog, Windows gaming handheld with AR display and rollable smartphone: Tecno unveils MWC plans
Tecno is inviting you via press release to its stand at the Mobile World Congress from February 26 to 29 and is already giving a foretaste of the products that will be demonstrated at the event. First and foremost, the Tecno Phantom Ultimate will be shown, which already appeared in the first video last year.
This is a concept smartphone with a rollable screen. The display can be expanded from 6.55 inches to 7.11 inches. When rolled up, part of the panel can be seen on the back and thus display incoming messages or serve as a camera viewfinder for taking selfies with the main camera. Compared to foldable smartphones, the device is thinner with a height of 9.9 millimetres. As the smartphone is still being shown as a concept, it is unclear whether a sales launch of the Phantom Ultimate is planned.
At least as exciting is the Tecno Dynamic 1, a robotic dog inspired by the German Shepherd. Using "advanced algorithms" and "powerful sensors", Dynamic 1 is designed to achieve realistic movement sequences, while the dog can interpret voice commands using artificial intelligence.
Finally, the Tecno Pocket Go, a Windows-based gaming handheld that comes with AR glasses, will be on show. This allows users to play games on the go in large format, whereby similar setups can already be implemented today with a combination of a gaming handheld such as the Asus ROG Ally (approx. 555 euros on Amazon) and AR glasses with USB-C.
