Sony aibo Espresso debuts as new limited edition of AI-powered robot dog

  The latest generation of Sony's aibo (or ERS-1000) comes in a number of different 'coat' colors with names such as White, Black Sesame, Strawberry Milk - and, most recently, Espresso, which has been released in "limited quantities" to the US market.

The Limited aibo Espresso Edition is mostly black with white accents; then again, it, like the rest of its series, has LED-lit eyes. However, it is the only variant to launch with optional electronic heterochromia.

Every "puppy" from the new aibo "Litter" also benefits from a 3-year AI Cloud Plan (as with the White edition) out of the box, which will also contain a full charging station and a pink ball accessory.

The Plan will ensure that the Espresso aibo develops a "unique personality" over time, and that it keeps "learning" new tricks and "behaviors" over the duration of its coverage in the form of software updates. It can also connect to an aibo app, which allows its "owner" to give it virtual meals, treats and playtimes.
