A new sighting of the 'Polestar Phone' has surfaced online. For context, Polestar has not publicly commented on releasing a smartphone yet. A short promotional video showing the Polestar Phone leaked almost three months ago though, full details of which we have discussed separately. Seemingly, the video was shot during an official Polestar presentation, although the company has not announced anything since.
Now, a device bearing the name marketing name 'Polestar Phone' has been added to the list of devices that Google Play supports. Unfortunately, the list only contains four columns, three of which 'Polestar Phone' or 'PolestarPhone'. Crucially, the listing also implies that Meizu is behind Polestar's first smartphone, which was also inferred from November's video leak.
For now, it is unclear whether Polestar will announce its inaugural smartphone globally. However, it seems that the Polestar Phone could be a re-branded Meizu 20 Pro of sorts, given the details that can be spied from Polestar's leaked promotional video. As such, the Polestar Phone may eventually launch with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, plus three rear-facing cameras and a flat OLED display, among other features.
