Meizu sets launch date for first-ever 5,500mAh smartphone with 144Hz display
Despite indications that the 21 series represents a species that might well go extinct within the next few generations (namely, Meizu smartphones), it is still adding to its numbers with the upcoming Note variant. As the name suggests, it seems to be unique among its existing siblings in that it focuses on a big and fast screen experience.
The OEM is keeping the size of the panel in question in reserve until its May 16, 2024 debut, although it has already been revealed to have a resolution of 1.5K with a refresh rate of 144Hz - compared to 120Hz in the 21 Pro.
On that note, the 21x 21 Note also seems hyped as somewhat of a Meizu smartphone for gamers, as exemplified by a teaser highlighting the fact that its rear-mounted ring-flash has an RGB mode - not to mention that it will be first of its kind to make the on-trend 5,500mAh upgrade.
Then again, that might also mean the Note will drop its series' increasingly rare 21:9 aspect ratio to accommodate its super-sized battery; in addition, its downgrade to dual rear cameras leaves it looking like a OnePlus Nord CE4.
Meizu is also doing its best to keep the smartphone's pricing a secret until its official unveiling; however, as it is said to go with a last-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, its cost is not likely to come as a shock.
The 21 Note is also slated to debut as one of the OEM's "All in AI" devices with a new version of Flyme OS, support for MYVU AR and PANDAER tie-ins.
