Polestar Phone outed as re-branded Meizu 20 Infinity with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset
GSMChina has stumbled across an IMEI listing for the Polestar Phone, roughly a week after the same device surfaced on Google Play's supported devices list. While GSMChina's leak does not disclose any release details, it underlines that the Polestar Phone will be a re-branded Meizu handset. For context, Meizu and Polestar are both Geely subsidiaries, a company that also owns Proton, the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) and the majority of Lotus Cars.
As the screenshot below shows, the Polestar Phone is linked to the model number M329S, which means nothing on the face of it. However, Meizu developed the 20 Infinity with the model number M392Q, which it launched almost a year ago. Thus, it should follow that M329S and M329Q are variants of the same device, likely with the same underlying hardware.
In other words, it appears that the Polestar Phone will arrive with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, as well as a large 6.79-inch display. Presumably still an OLED panel complemented by an LTPO backplane, the 1368p panel also delivers a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,800 nits peak brightness. Moreover, we suspect that the Polestar Phone will launch with UFS 4.0 flash storage, unlike the OnePlus 12R, plus a 50 MP primary camera supported by OIS and a 4,800 mAh battery.
