We recently took a detailed look at the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 4G and as it turns out, the affordable mid-range phone has just been given a subtle update. We have summarized our test results for you.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 4G's smallest storage configuration can be found for just below US$200 and even so, it has proved to still be very modern: Its bezels have been slimmed down considerably compared to its predecessor—especially along the bottom of the screen. This means the phone is now slightly smaller while still retaining the same screen size.

It continues to feature a wonderful AMOLED screen which can now reach better brightnesses: We measured considerably more than 900 cd/m² when depicting a full white screen and even more when showing smaller areas. As a result, HDR content now looks better than ever. And, of course, such a bright screen has its advantages when reading from the phone outside or in other bright surroundings.

Not much has been done when it comes to the phone's performance: It still has the same SoC as its predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 4G. It is good enough for less demanding tasks, meaning you can surf the web or send messages—but even watching videos usually poses no issues for the device. On the other hand, if you are looking to do more with your phone, then you might have to deal with some dropped frames and longer loading times.

More than anything, however, the phone appears to be a bit of a gaming grouch. Sure, casual gaming in the form of puzzles or hidden object games works just fine. But for more demanding games such as PUBG Mobile or Genshin Impact, its performance is pretty low indeed: For the most part, you can only select low settings and the achievable frame rates are really quite poor.

On the flip side, we liked how many accessories you get alongside the phone—Xiaomi even includes a wired headset. The phone's connectivity is extensive, too, as the manufacturer has again installed an infrared blaster into the Redmi Note 13 4G, which lets you transform the phone into a remote control for various devices.

There is much more to say about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 4G—but this is what our detailed review is for: Here, you can see a plethora of further findings surrounding the phone, benchmark results as well as other things that we noticed during the test period.
