Xiaomi rumoured to be delivering its next flagship smartphone with flatter display than Xiaomi 13 Ultra
MySmartPrice has revealed another previously unknown aspect of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, having been one of two sources to reveal the first official images of the device yesterday. In summary, previous leaks focused on the device's back panel and frame, in which various design changes from the Xiaomi 13 Ultra (curr. $845 on Amazon) are visible. Now, MySmartPrice has turned its attention to leaking what the Xiaomi 14 Ultra looks like from the front.
Based on the two images below, Xiaomi has made a few visual changes between the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra's display. On the one hand, the latter has a less curved finish than the former. It is worth noting that Xiaomi has not moved to a completely flat finish like Samsung has this year with the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Instead, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra adopts a subtler display curve than the Xiaomi 13 Ultra did, theoretically reducing accidental touch inputs.
On the other hand, the move towards a flatter display finish gives the Xiaomi 14 Ultra the appearance of uniform bezels. However, this also means that the device appears to have thicker side bezels than its predecessor. Xiaomi will present the Xiaomi 14 Ultra globally alongside the Xiaomi 14 on February 25. The former's debut may occur a few days earlier in China though, if various pre-release rumours are accurate.
