Huawei's next Samsung Galaxy Z Flip rival rumoured to launch with familiar design
It seems that Huawei has several high-end smartphone experiences planned. On the one hand, the company is rumoured to return to its Mate and P series later this year with Mate 70 and P70 devices. Past release schedules suggest that P70 models will be with us as early as next month, although perhaps only in China initially. On the other hand, the Mate 70 series is likely to arrive in late summer.
According to new rumours, Huawei will complement its Mate 70 and P70 releases with a new clamshell foldable by the name of the Pocket 2 Flip. For now, it remains to be seen whether Huawei will give the foldable a dedicated launch event alongside new wearables and IoT devices like the P50 Pocket and Pocket S. Alternatively, Huawei could augment its Mate 70 or P70 series announcements with the Pocket 2 Flip, as proved the case with the P50 Pocket's European reveal.
Based on the alleged leaked renders below, it would appear that Huawei has only made visual tweaks between the Pocket S and the Pocket 2 Flip. On the one hand, the company has altered its camera housing; a triple camera set-up remains, though. This time around, the Pocket 2 Flip has a much smaller LED flash that allows Huawei to place its camera lenses in a triangular arrangement. On the other hand, it seems that the device has a larger outer display, which measures 1.04-inches on the P50 Pocket and Pocket S. Reportedly, the Pocket 2 Flip will offer 5G connectivity, although other specifications remain unknown for now.
