Honor partners with Gameloft to optimize Asphalt 9: Legends on Honor Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design
The Honor Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design is expected to make its global debut soon. Before the official international launch, Honor announced a partnership with Gameloft, one of the leading mobile video game developers. With this collaboration, the device becomes the first foldable phone capable of delivering 120 FPS in Asphalt 9: Legends, a popular mobile racing game from the developer.
Honor says that 120 FPS on the game will enable mobile racers to enjoy smoother visuals and “ultra-fast” response times on the Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design. That, combined with the ability to play the game on the large 7.92-inch screen on the foldable smartphone, should result in an immersive visual experience.
Gameloft and Honor have made many tweaks for the success of this partnership. As the phone maker describes, they have reconstructed the game rendering process, used shader replacement tech, incorporated GPU-based edge reconstruction tech, and utilized AI. All this adjusts the game for the foldable screen of the Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design.
Moreover, the foldable phone comes with stereo speakers. This speaker setup will allow the gamers to enjoy the newest Festive Sparks and Dragon Race seasons introduced in the Asphalt 9: Legends game with immersive audio.
Users of the Honor Magic V2 series can download the optimized Asphalt 9: Legends from Google Play later this month. The exact date is yet to be announced. Likewise, Honor hasn’t yet shared the global release date and pricing of the RSR Porsche Edition. It debuted in China in January with a price tag of CNY 15,999 (about $2,224).
