Vivo X Fold3 Pro tipped to launch as next-level flagship foldable smartphone in dodgy new leak
The Vivo X Fold2 is one of the fanciest foldable Android smartphones that can only be gotten at via re-sellers such as TradingShenzhen outside China, and, as such, has never seemed to need a second, even more premium, variant.
Therefore, it is said to be part of a straightforward life-cycle that ends in the launch of an X Fold3 later in 2024 with upgrades that might even include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, X100 Pro-like charging specs (which would be a substantial leap for any foldable smartphone) and a series-first periscope lens rear camera.
However, according to some subsequent rumors, those relatively new features might in fact belong to a Pro variant, leaving the vanilla Fold3 to become somewhat of the more affordable option. They have reportedly been registered to the MIIT as the Vivo V2303 and V2337.
Those same model numbers have also been certified by the Bluetooth SIG - however, they are identified as the V29e (ostensibly a budget version of the V29) and V40 SE 5G (equally patently an affordable version of a another next-gen V-series device) respectively.
Therefore, unless Vivo's typical model number system now diverges wildly between China and the rest of the world, the "Vivo X Fold3 Pro" theory remains unvalidated for now.
