Vivo X Fold3 tipped to launch as Android foldable flagship smartphone with periscope zoom and wireless charging

The Vivo X Fold2 is one of the best foldable smartphones of 2023 - on paper, at least. Now, the OEM is projected to improve on the class-leading ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for a main 2K 120Hz main screen and 50MP main camera in its third-gen flexible-display flagship.

Then again, Vivo was never able to fit a periscope zoom lens into its latest foldable, even though OPPO and OnePlus proceeded to prove that that was possible in the Open and its twin the Find N3. However, the former brand will apparently redress this discrepancy in the X Fold3. 

On the other hand, OnePlus and OPPO did fail to also include 50W wireless charging, even though the same spec was supported in the X Fold2 and will return in the Fold3 - according to legendary leaker Digital Chat Station, anyway. There is an alleged catch, however, in that its wired charging speeds are to drop from 120W to 100W.

Nevertheless, Vivo is now possibly backed to pack even more premium aspects into its third-gen foldable than it did into its second. Nevertheless, Digital Chat Station might hint that the X Fold3 will be the more practical of the 2, with a footprint around the same as something like a Xiaomi 13 Ultra (or another "imaging flagship"), presumably when closed.
