Honor Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design presented as new premium foldable smartphone
Honor has introduced a new version of Magic V2, a high-end foldable that debuted in July 2023. This time, the company collaborated with Porsche Design to release the Magic V2 RSR, a month after the design house started selling the AOC AGON PRO PD49 gaming monitor. Since the handset's back and inside are dominated by displays, Porsche Design has sought to distinguish the Magic V2 RSR from the regular model with a striking rear design.
According to Honor, the Magic V2 RSR is finished in Agate Grey, a colour that is also offered in various Porsche models. Also, Honor and Porsche Design have extended the standard device's camera housing, seemingly to accentuate the RSR edition's new lines. Moreover, the Magic V2 RSR has a titanium hinge, although this appears to be unchanged from the regular Magic V2. Both models measure 156.7 x 145.4 x 4.7~4.8 mm, although the RSR Porsche Design sits between the Magic V2's colour options at 234 g.
Ultimately, the same hardware underpins the RSR Porsche Design and the Magic V2. Thus, the former has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a pair of 120 Hz AMOLED displays; please see our Magic V2 launch article for more hardware details. For now, Honor is offering the Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design exclusively in China. Additionally, the handset is only available with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, which Honor has priced at CNY 15,999 (~$2,242). Unfortunately, the company has not confirmed yet it intends to launch its Magic V2 spin-off internationally.
