The Magic6 Pro is now believed to become supplanted as Honor's latest flagship smartphone by its upcoming RSR sibling later in 2024. It is believed to be the world's first device to launch with a new ultra-premium rear camera sensor slated to beat that of rivals such as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra or OPPO Find X7 Ultra in some specific, potentially significant, ways.

The Honor Magic6 Pro may have caused some bemusement when it launched as a premium Android smartphone, albeit one without the all-new 1-inch sensor with which the brand's 2024 flagships have become linked. However, famous leaker Digital Chat Station purports to clear that possible confusion by revealing that this device is on the way...just not quite yet.

The Magic6 "RSR" is now thus predicted to launch in March 2024 with the Omnivision OV50K of legend. The sensor is projected to have the same class-leading footprint as those of existing or upcoming super-phones such as the OPPO Find X7 Ultra or Xiaomi 14 Ultra but with "the highest dynamic range in the industry".

The OV50K is also now tipped to compete with the Sony LTY900 "with a large variable aperture". Accordingly, the "Magic6 RSR" might launch as a smartphone capable of capturing more detail and depth in challenging lighting compared to even the most expensive of its contemporaries in the first quarter of 2024.

Despite its alleged name, it is not clear whether it will debut as an Honor Porsche Edition smartphone at the time of writing.
