Honor Magic6 series set to launch as first MagicOS 8.0 smartphones in 2024

Honor may be more justified than most in its use of a certain old Arthur C. Clarke-attributed line ("Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic") as an opener for its introductory teaser for its upcoming major product event (even if this isn't the first time it has done so), as the devices involved are also touted as the most Magic smartphones around.

The handsets are also now officially backed to run a new version of MagicOS out of the box. The OEM has yet to go into further detail on the software, although it is likely to be based on Android 14, and might come updated to support features such as upgraded main camera sensors and satellite connectivity.  

The Magic6 line is also slated to integrate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3's new AI features, and to include a series-first limited edition device developed in collaboration with Porsche Design. Accordingly, its upgrades are now scheduled to stretch the "magic technology feast" laid on in its honor across events held on both January 10 and 11, 2024 in the brand's native China.
