Honor has kicked off the Magic6 series, less than a year after it released its inaugural Magic5 models. To start with, the company has unveiled the Magic6 Lite, a mid-range option that carries over its predecessor's design in many areas. For example, the curved display of the Magic5 Lite (curr. US$349.99 on Amazon) returns, as does its circular camera housing and slim frame.
However, Honor has swapped the Snapdragon 695 5G for the more modern Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, which works with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage and a 5,300 mAh battery that supports 35 W wired charging. Thus, the Magic6 Lite has a slightly higher capacity battery than its predecessor that utilised a 5,100 mAh cell instead. Additionally, Honor has installed a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, a 0.11-inch size increase that also grows in resolution from 2,400 x 1,080 to 2,652 x 1,200 pixels.
The Magic6 Lite features a 120 Hz refresh too, as well as full DCI-P3 colour space coverage; unfortunately, Honor has not shared any brightness details yet. Elsewhere, Honor has included a 108 MP primary camera with an f/1.75 aperture, another improvement over the 64 MP and f/1.8 equivalent in the Magic5 Lite. By contrast, a 16 MP front-facing camera can still be found, as can 5 MP ultra-wide-angle and 2 MP auxiliary rear-facing cameras.
Honor is expected to launch the Magic6 Lite on December 27 globally with Emerald Green, Midnight Black and Sunrise Orange colourways. While the company has not shared pricing information yet, it has already listed the smartphone on its Italian website. Hence, one can assume that Europe will be one of the first markets in which the Magic6 Lite will be available.
