Digital Chat Station has revealed initial details about a new Redmi K70 series smartphone. To recap, barely any time has passed since Xiaomi introduced the Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro, as well as the cheaper Redmi K70E. Nonetheless, Digital Chat Station claims that the company is also planning a corresponding 'Ultra' model underpinned by MediaTek silicon.
Specifically, the leaker states that Xiaomi is developing the Redmi K70 Ultra around the Dimensity 9300, MediaTek's alternative to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Currently exclusive to the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro so far, the Dimensity 9300 has managed to get close to its Snapdragon counterpart in AnTuTu's latest benchmark charts, although there are concerns about its sustained performance levels.
Additionally, the Redmi K70 Ultra is said to contain a 120 Hz and 6.67-inch AMOLED display, as well as high megapixel cameras and 150 W wired charging capabilities. For now, the Redmi K60 Ultra is expected to debut in Q1 2024. Based on previous releases, the Redmi K70 Ultra may end up re-badged as the Xiaomi 14T Pro, but not until early autumn or late summer. Certainly, that proved the case with the Xiaomi 13T Pro (curr. $675 on Amazon), which serves as the Redmi K60 Ultra's global counterpart.
