Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro not just for China: Premium tablet will be released globally, likely together with Xiaomi 14 Ultra
Until now, Xiaomi has launched the Pro models of its tablet series exclusively in China. In this country, for example, the Xiaomi Pad 6 (approx. 340 euros on Amazon) is officially available, but the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro is not. This could finally change next year. According to a report, the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will also be launched globally.
The source has found a reference to a global launch of the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro in the source code of HyperOS - the new Android skin from Xiaomi. The global firmware build 23.12.10 contains an entry for the supposed Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro with its code name "sheng" which points to a global launch. If the information is correct, Xiaomi's new Pro tablet is likely to go on sale worldwide and no longer be reserved for China, as was the case with previous generations.
According to previous information the new Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will be equipped with a slightly smaller 10-inch display. This would probably make the device somewhat more compact. In addition, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC are expected. The future tablet's HyperOS overlay will be based on Android 14.
The launch of the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro is expected in April 2024, together with the Pad 7 and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra flagship smartphone, which reportedly will sport a Leica camera and extremely bright display - but initially only in China. The global launch of the two new tablets from Xiaomi should take place in the usual manner later next year.
