The Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will be Xiaomi's premium tablet for the year and is expected to make its debut in the coming months. A new leak has now thrown more light on what to expect from the tablet, with a slew of upgrades over last year's Pad 6 Pro seemingly on the cards.

Word on the grapevine indicates Xiaomi's plans to release the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro in the near future. The Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro launched in April last year, so it looks likely that the Pad 7 Pro will make its debut around the same period this year. While specific launch dates remain unknown, leaks have surfaced about the premium tablet over the past few weeks, with the latest of the lot seemingly providing a good look at what to expect.

As revealed by GSMChina, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro will sport a 10-inch display, making it a smaller tablet than its predecessor, the Pad 6 Pro—which measures in at 11 inches. That 10-inch display is tipped to offer a resolution of 1480 x 2387, and a 144 Hz refresh rate.

Interestingly, while this leak claims the Pad 7 Pro will be smaller than the tablet it replaces, it also indicates the presence of a 10,000 mAh battery, bigger than the 8600 mAh unit on the Pad 6 Pro. Charging specs are apparently also improved, at 120 W versus the Pad 6 Pro's 67 W. Lastly, the Pad 7 Pro is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and, unlike the Pad 6 Pro, could be launched globally.
