The Xiaomi TV Q1E 55-inch is Europe's latest 4K QLED TV
Xiaomi may have launched its latest flagship 11T-series phones and Pad 5 tablet internationally today (September 15, 2021); however, there was also room for a bigger-screened device during this product event. It is the Xiaomi Mi TV Q1E - or possibly Xiaomi TV Q1E, as it might be called on its release to Europe later on.
This new home entertainment prospect is not OLED; nevertheless, Xiaomi asserts that it can hold its own in terms of color-reproduction thanks to its QLED nature. The Q1E 55 covers 103% of the NTSC and 97% of the DCI-P3 color-spaces as a result. It also supports a 10000:1 contrast ratio and a peak brightness of 1000 nits.
Xiaomi presents this 4K panel in an ultra-slim, "bezel-less" aluminum-alloy form-factor in a dark gray color. The chassis also contains inbuilt dual 15W stereo speakers that support Dolby Audio and DTS-HD. As it is a global product, it eschews Patchwall UI in this case. This relatively new Android 10 OS will also give access to its Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as an inbuilt Chromecast.
Therefore, the Q1E is mostly presented as a fairly premium new 55-inch smart screen. Then again, its refresh rate is set at a very standard 60Hz, which, as it runs on the same MediaTek MT9611 platform found in the Mi TV 6 Extreme Edition, is particularly disappointing. The spec is augmented with MEMC, at least.
Xiaomi has announced that it will offer orders for the TV Q1E from the start of November 2021. They can be accessed through Mi.com/de, Amazon.de, MediaMarkt or Saturn, with a price of €799 (~US$943). Accordingly, one can now choose between this and a new Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team Edition of the Scooter Pro 2 for that price.
