Philips has announced four new premium OLED TVs under its OLED+ range. As expected, three of these are OLED+ 936 TVs, which come in 48-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch sizes. However, there is also the OLED+ 986, a TV that is only available as a 65-inch TV.
All new OLED+ TVs feature 4K panels with Android TV 10 built-in. Additionally, they all have Philips' P5 AI Dual Picture Engine, a twin processor that also allows the TVs to run at up to 120 Hz. Correspondingly, Philips has included HDMI 2.1 ports for connecting the OLED+ TVs to next-generation games consoles. All four HDMI 2.1 ports support HDMI VRR and FreeSync Premium, too.
However, the OLED+ 986 also utilises an LG OLED Evo panel. Supposedly, this means that the OLED+ 986 can get 20% brighter than its predecessor while still delivering excellent colour accuracy and contrast ratios. Philips also builds a Bowers & Wilkins soundbar into all models, along with a proprietary Tweeter-on-Top driver that sits atop the soundbar.
Philips new OLED TVs will retail for the following in the Eurozone. The company is yet to announce UK or US pricing, though. The four TVs will be available from October.
