Xiaomi has revealed the Mi TV 5X series, which will be available in three sizes. Announced at the company's annual Smarter Living event, the Mi TV 5X series offers 4K native resolutions and 10-bit colour across the board, all mated to 60 Hz panels. Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR 10 and HLG support is also included, as is Xiaomi's Vivid Picture Engine 2.
According to Xiaomi, all TVs will cover 94% of DCI-P3 and 88% of NTSC, although the 55-inch model has the highest screen-to-body ratio at 96.6%. The 43-inch and 50-inch models are no slouches in this department though, as they offer 95.4% and 95.9% screen-to-body ratios, respectively.
The 50-inch and 55-inch models also have the advantage of 40 W stereo speakers though, with Xiaomi including a 30 W speaker in the 43-inch version. All Mi TV 5X models run Android TV 10 with hands-free Google Assistant support. Additionally, Xiaomi has included a trio of HDMI 2.1 ports, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and Dolby Atmos DTS-HD on all models.
The Mi TV 5X series will be orderable from September 7, starting at INR 31,999 (~US$431) for the 43-inch model. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has priced the 50-inch model at INR 41,999 (~US$566), with the 55-inch version coming in at INR 47,999 (~US$647) for reference. Unfortunately, it is unclear if Xiaomi plans to release the Mi TV 5X series in other markets, such as the European Union.
