Xiaomi's smart-tech event of today (August 26, 2021) was perhaps dominated by the launch of 2 new Mi Notebooks and the Mi TV 5X in India. However, there were one or two other appearances at this show, such as the new Mi Router 4A (Gigabit Edition) - not to mention the new Xiaomi Running Shoes.

Xiaomi held its Smarter Living 2022 event to announce the launch of the Mi Notebooks Pro and Ultra, not to mention a whole new Mi TV, in the Indian market. However, it seems no OEM's product event would be complete these days without some new smart home or IoT gadgets to throw in, which may be why the country also has the new Mi Router 4A Gigabit Edition and Mi 360 Home Security Camera 2K Pro.

The new dual-band Wi-Fi accessory is, as the name suggests, a new version of the Router 4A, just with up to 10 times the maximum speeds. It is graced with 4 "high-gain" antennae and a dual-core, 880MHz processor. Its upgraded spec is accessed via 3 RJ-45 ports, and is possessed of "anti-hacking" and unwanted guest log-on protection.

It might go nicely with a new Mi 360° Home Security Camera 2K Pro. It is, as the name (sort of) suggests, a residential surveillance device capable of up to 2304×1296 video-captures. The camera is rated to do so with 360° pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) support, and is also built in a way that allows the lens to rotate and face the back of its housing at the touch of a button in the Mi Home app. should the user wish for privacy away from its gaze for a while.

Finally, Xiaomi has unveiled its...Running Shoes. This may seem a strange choice for a company normally associated with smart devices; however, it also has interests in all kinds of product lines, some of which one might not expect.

The Shoes are obviously not really a tech product, although Xiaomi certainly tries by promoting their highly-developed "5 in 1 uni-moulding" design, ergonomic flexible fit, "cloud bomb popcorn" midsole and Microban anti-microbial treatment. The Running Shoes are slated to come in 3 colors, all accented with a reflective Xiaomi logo made of 3M material.

Then again, these products may never see their new market unless they succeed in their official Xiaomi India crowdfunding campaign. The Mi 360 2K Pro and Mi Router 4A Gigabit Edition are much more certain to be released on September 15, 2021 via mi.com/in. The latter is already set to go for INR 2,199 (~US$30), whereas Xiaomi will ask INR 4,499 (~$60) for the new security camera.
