The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 launches in India
Xiaomi has introduced some new laptops and a TV to India today during its Smarter Living 2022 expo. Then again, there was also a smaller product that many consumers may also have been glad to see: the Mi Smart Band 6.
This successor to the Mi Band 5 has a larger, 326 ppi AMOLED display, which can go up to 450 nits in terms of brightness and is rated to stay on for up to 14 days' worth of normal use. It is also the variant that brings SpO2 sensing to the Mi Band line, in addition to 30 exercise modes, women's health tracking and continuous heart-rate tracking.
Despite the marketing material that hints at a wider range of colors, the Mi Smart Band 6 will only be available with a black strap on its first day of orders, set for August 30, 2021 at 12:00 IST (08:30 CET). The new fitness tracker's normal price appears to be INR 5,999 (~US$81) - although this is already discounted to INR 3,499 (~$47) as a launch-event special.
Finally, the Mi Smart Band 6's new official product page makes no mention of NFC for this wearable.
