The Mi Smart Band 6 (Xiaomi Mi Band 6) has just been launched, with Xiaomi surprising many fans by revealing its newest fitness tracker not even 12 months after the release of the Mi Band 5 in China (June 2020) and the Mi Smart Band 5 global version (July 2020). While much has been said about the appealing full-screen AMOLED touch display, which is roughly 50% larger than the predecessor’s display, and the useful addition of an SpO2 sensor, Mi Band fans might be wondering what other differences the Mi Smart Band 6 has in comparison with the Mi Smart Band 5.

While there are a lot of similarities between the Mi Smart Band 6 and Mi Smart Band 5, the additions could be worth the €10 difference for those either upgrading from a Mi Band 1-4 or for new users. However, those who already own the 2020 variant will have to decide how much the differences mean to them before choosing the Mi Smart Band 6.

The larger full-screen display, the personal reference SpO2 sensor, the 19 additional sports modes, and the fitness mode auto-detection feature (for outdoor running, walking, treadmill running, indoor rowing, elliptical training, and cycling) still might be enough to sway users of the Mi Smart Band 5 into making a purchase of the Mi Smart Band 6, which undeniably packs a lot of features for a reasonable price.
