MSI is expanding the Summit lineup with the 13-inch E13 Flip and the 16-inch E16 Flip convertible business laptops. Both models are powered by Intel’s Tiger Lake-U processors and feature a slim and light stylish design with CNC-cut aluminum chassis. New to this series are the 16:10 aspect ratio IPS screens that increase the screen to body ratio for more real estate. This works well in conjunction with the multi-touch support and the included MSI Pen.
The exact specs for the 16-incher are not provided since it is supposed to integrate the RTX 3050 dGPU that has not yet been officially revealed by NVIDIA. Besides the dGPU, the slightly thicker profile of 16.85 mm and the larger 16-inch QHD+ panel, the specs on the E16 should match those on the E13 Flip, which also gets an Intel EVO certificate.
According to the press release, the E13 Flip can be equipped with up to an i7-1185G7 CPU with Iris Xe graphics and can be equipped with up to 32 GB of LPDDR4x-4246 RAM plus an unspecified capacity for PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage. The new Summit convertibles are among the first to feature the Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.2 standards and the port selection includes two Thunderbolt 4 connectors with charging capabilities, a USB-C 3.2 and a USB-A 3.2, plus an audio combo jack. Additional ports like HDMI and DP 1.4 are provided through a separate USB-C docking station. Other features include a webcam lock switch, SD card reader, fingerprint reader, IR HD webcam and a 70 Wh battery that supports fast charging. The E13 comes with a 13.4-inch 1920X1200 touchscreen, is 14.9 mm thick and weighs 1.35 Kg.
