One of MSI's cheapest laptops is now even cheaper to be a great deal for bargain bin hunters. A $350 laptop isn't going to blow anyone away, but it's pretty impressive when compared to others in the same price range.
Best Buy is currently hosting a sale on the 14-inch MSI Modern 14 for $150 USD off the already low original launch price. This particular model is an entry-level Ultrabook in contrast to the pricier Prestige series or Summit series from the same manufacturer.
Key specifications are relatively low with the 10th gen Core i3-10110U CPU, meager 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB SSD. When compared to other laptops in the same price range, however, the system is still significantly faster than the usual Atom or Celeron-powered models that are all too common. If you mostly do word processing, video streaming, or web browsing, then this affordable Modern 14 should be near the top of your list.
See our full review on the MSI Modern 14 to learn more about the system. Although the specifications of our test unit are different from the Best Buy model, their physical features remain identical. Note that the RAM and SSD can be tricky to upgrade since they are on the opposite side of the motherboard as shown by our image below.
Core i3-10110U CPU
UHD Graphics 620
14-inch 1080p IPS display
8 GB DDR4-2666, Single-Channel (difficult to upgrade)

There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
