Now that Intel's new line of Tiger Lake chips are hare, we're beginning to see them in several new MSI laptops. The MSI Creator is one of the first professional notebooks to get the Tiger Lake-H treatment. It also ships with several exciting features, such as a mini-LED screen. MSI is yet to disclose its price and availability but says that more information will be made public in the coming weeks.
MSI claims that the Creator 17 is one of the world's first notebooks to ship with a 17-inch UHD (3,840 x 2,160) mini LED screen clocked at 60Hz, peak brightness of 1,000 nits, 100% DCI-P3 spectrum coverage and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. Those are quite a few accolades for a laptop screen. One can pair the screen with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 (6GB VRAM, 80W + 15W Dynamic Boost), GeForce RTX 3070 (8GB VRAM, 80W + 15W Dynamic Boost or GeForce RTX 3080 (16GB VRAM 80W + 15W Dynamic Boost).
One can configure the MSI Creator 17 with up to an Intel Core i9-11980HK processor, paired with up to 64GB of RAM and 2TB of solid-state storage via two NVMe SSDs. Wired connectivity options include one Thunderbolt 4.0 port, one USB Type-C Gen 3.2 port, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, one HDMI port, a 23.5mm combo audio jack, a full-sized SD card reader and an RJ-45 ethernet port. On the wireless side of things, the MSI Creator 17 supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The included 720p webcam has an IR sensor, allowing for Windows Hello functionality. Lastly, the laptop draws power from a colossal 99.9Wh battery which can be charged at 230W with the included power adaptor.
