The Dell XPS 15 9510 is now official and offers internal upgrades to Intel Tiger Lake-H CPUs and NVIDIA RTX 3050/3050 Ti Laptop GPU options. Dell hasn't changed many aspects of the design with the only notable changes being the availability of a 3.5K OLED display option and Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Dell's much anticipated XPS 15 annual refresh is now official in the XPS 15 9510 with customary internal upgrades to the latest from Intel and NVIDIA. This time, we also get to see a 3.5K OLED option as well along with Thunderbolt 4 connectivity.

Design-wise, the XPS 15 9510 is exactly the same as the XPS 15 9500 from 2020 including the 18 mm thin chassis, CNC machined aluminum with carbon fiber composite palm rest and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the touch panel, and a 92.9% screen-to-body ratio.

The XPS 15 9510 offers a choice between the Intel Core i5-11400H, Core i7-11800H, and the Core i9-11900H Tiger Lake-H processor options. Up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM can be configured along with up to 4 TB of PCIe Gen4 SSDs.

We have previously reviewed the XPS 15 7590 with a Samsung OLED panel and found the brightness to be somewhat on the lower side along with the lack of touch input. This time, alongside the traditional 4K UHD+ and FHD+ choices, Dell is bringing back the OLED display option. The 3.5K (3,456 x 2,160) OLED display now supports touch input and can cover 100% DCI-P3 color gamut with a 100,000:1 contrast ratio. The 400-nit display also supports DisplayHDR 500 True Black, Dolby Vision, and EyeSafe technologies. We look forward to testing the XPS 15 9510 to see if there have been any improvements to the OLED display.

For the first time, the XPS 15 lineup will be getting ray tracing and DLSS abilities as Dell transitions from the GTX mobile GPUs to the RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti 45 W Laptop GPUs. Dell says that a total of 55 W of power is available in the 18 mm thin chassis.

Port selection is same as that of the previous generation except that the XPS 15 9510 now comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports. A USB Type-C to USB 3.0 Type-A and HDMI 2.0 adapter ships as standard in the box. Wi-Fi connectivity is provided by the Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 adapter with Bluetooth 5.1. Buyers can also configure between a 56 WHr and 86 WHr battery.

The Dell XPS 15 9510 will be available in the US from Summer at prices starting from US$1,199.99. Dell also offers an XPS Creator Edition with a minimum configuration comprised of a Core i5 processor, 512 GB SSD, and 16 GB RAM. All NVIDIA GPU options are also compatible with Studio Drivers for optimal performance in creative apps.
