Xiaomi teases the Mi TV 5X, a new smart screen with 40W speakers for the Indian market

Xiaomi's Indian division is currently hyping an upcoming event called Smarter Living 2022. This event, as the name suggests, is likely to focus on new personal devices of a particularly helpful and connected nature. Accordingly, the OEM has announced that the show will premiere an "all-new premium Mi TV series".

Its inaugural exponent is to be called the 5X: a "category-defining, one-of-a-kind" smart screen Xiaomi India is already hyping as having a "premium metal bezel-less" build, which may enhanced immersion in content-consumption on the device. It is also now touted as having 40W stereo speakers.

These specs might be further augmented as the Mi TV 5X is rated to support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Then again, the OEM has left another further details about the upcoming device, its panel type and size options included, to the imagination at this stage.

It has been previewed to its current extent on Mi TV India's Twitter channel, which has presented it alongside additional graphics that hint at the launch of at least 1 new laptop and perhaps a smart band during the same show. It is scheduled to start at 12:00 IST (08:30 CET) on August 26, 2021, and may be viewed on mi.com/in.
