32-inch and 43-inch Redmi Smart TVs scheduled for September 22 launch
Xiaomi has slowly clawed its way to the top of the Android TV market in China and the company is targeting India next. After releasing the Mi TV 5X series in August, the company is set to release two new TVs, in the Redmi Smart TV series.
The company has officially confirmed on its handles that the TVs will be unveiled on September 22, at noon. Sadly, though, apart from the marketing renders, there's currently little to nothing known about the new Smart TVs. We do know, however, that two TVs will debut on that date: a 32-inch TV, and a 43-inch TV.
Both TVs will, of course, run Android. They can be expected to be affordable as well, as they're being launched under the Redmi brand. Sadly, that also means hardware expectations are to be tempered with caution. The Mi TV 5X series starts at Rs 31,999 (US$435), so we can expect the 43-inch Redmi Smart TV to undercut that in pricing, keeping with the pecking order of Xiaomi's brands. We'll be sure to keep you updated on this either way.
