Xiaomi has only released the Mi Band 6 NFC in China so far, with the non-NFC model the sole option for fans outside of the company's home market. A new certification suggests that Xiaomi could be about to bring the Mi Band 6 NFC to more markets, though.

Xiaomi unveiled the Mi Smart Band 6 in March, also sold as the Mi Band 6 in many markets. The company released two models, XMSH15HM and XMSH16HM, which only differed on NFC connectivity. Currently, XMSH15HM is available globally, which is the version without NFC. By contrast, Xiaomi just sells XMSH16HM in China.

This has happened before with Xiaomi's fitness trackers, such as the Mi Band 5. Similarly, it took Xiaomi a year to release the Mi Smart Band 4 NFC, and only in Russia. However, XiaomiToday has discovered that Xiaomi has certified the XMSH16HM in Italy.

While certifications do not guarantee the device's release, they are usually a good indication that a company wishes to bring a device to market. On balance, it seems likely that Xiaomi will release the Mi Band 6 NFC in Italy, if not Eurozone wide.

Presumably, Xiaomi has been able to expand its Mastercard partnership to the Eurozone, which it debuted last year with the Mi Smart Band 4 NFC. Hopefully, this means that the Mi Band 6 NFC will support multiple Mastercard-based bank cards, rather than Mastercard-specific ones.
