EZVIZ launches its first pan/tilt outdoor Wi-Fi home security camera
The EZVIZ C8C is the first camera for home exteriors from this brand capable of near-360° views while recording or monitoring the property to which it is attached. It is also rated for up-to-date home-security features, including inbuilt AI to distinguish notification-worthy potential threats from things such as animals running across its field of view.
These notifications can be sent to a user's smartphone via EZVIZ' home security app, to which the C8C connects using single-band (2.4GHz) Wi-Fi. The app can also manage the camera's telemetry, which come in the form of 1080p video throughout the day or IR (albeit with the option of color in this mode) at night. It is accompanied by audio via the unit's in-built noise-cancelling microphone.
This footage can be saved either to microSD cards of up to 256GB in size, or to EZVIZ' cloud storage (possibly subject to additional subscription fees). The C8C does lack for the speaker or strobe light available in some other models. Then again, it may be a good option for those looking to start on or improve on their existing outdoor security set-up and who like the orb-cam look.
The C8C has just been listed on Walmart online, at a starting price of US$100, although this may revert to the camera's recommended price of $129 soon.
