Xiaomi Mi Smart Camera PTZ SE: A 1080p and 360° security camera that costs just CNY 149 (~US$21)
The Mi Smart Camera PTZ SE is Xiaomi's fourth security camera, with the company having already launched the original PTZ, the PTZ 2K and the PTZ Pro. The PTZ SE, as its name suggests, is a budget version of Xiaomi's other security cameras. Firstly, the PTZ SE can only rotate horizontally. It can still rotate 360°, but you may want to consider a different security camera if you want the added functionality that vertical rotation brings.
Secondly, the PTZ SE is restricted to recording in up to 1080p. Xiaomi has equipped the device with a 2 MP camera sensor that has an f/2.1 aperture and a 110° field of view. The PTZ SE also has a 940 nm infrared illuminator for recording footage at night or in a dark room. The device supports two-way audio, too.
The PTZ SE measures 75 x 75 x 108 mm and supports up to 32 GB microSD cards. However, it is compatible with network-attached storage (NAS) devices, too. The PTZ SE supports up to IEEE 802.11 n Wi-Fi, for reference, which means that it can only connect to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
Xiaomi sells the Mi Smart Camera PTZ SE for CNY 149 (~US$21) through its Youpin eCommerce platform. Gearbest also sells the security camera, but for US$38.99 plus shipping.
