The rumor mill has been abuzz with mentions of a new line of low-cost phones from Redmi called the Redmi 9, Redmi 9C, and Redmi 9A. Xiaomi is expected to unveil all three devices on June 25th. It appears that Xiaomi Spain may have jumped the gun a little, as it has already listed the Redmi 9 on its website.
The entry-level variant of the Redmi 9 retails at €149($169) in Spain. That number is bound to change on a country-by-country basis, though. The price sits in line with an earlier leak, which pegged it at around the $150 mark. Since it is a budget device, you only get 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. A MediaTek Helio G80 powers the phone, along with a 5,000mAh battery that supports charging at up to 18W. The quad-camera setup consists of a 13MP wide-angle lens assisted by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and 5MP macro lens. The phone's 6.5-inch FHD+ display has a waterdrop notch at the center, which houses its 8MP selfie camera.
Although the Redmi 9 is officially listed on Xiaomi's official website, it isn't available for sale just yet. It is possible that the listing was made in error, and will likely be taken down soon. Nonetheless, it tells us pretty much everything we need to know about the device.
