Alleged Xiaomi Mi Band 5 official domestic price leaked: Incredible value at just 189 yuan (US$27)
While we already reported on the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 price with an international retailer, the official domestic price had not yet been revealed. However, a Weibo user claims to have discovered the price of the fitness tracker via JD.com. Fortunately, a screenshot of the price was taken (see below), which revealed the Mi Band 5 would cost 189 yuan (US$27).
Of course, it’s worth taking this news with a pinch of salt for now, as it is not uncommon for mischievous “tipsters” to photoshop retail pages to then leak out news of prices, design, etc. However, if this price is accurate for the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 then shoppers in China are in for an amazing deal if they make a purchase. The Mi Band 5 is bristling with useful features, including magnetic charging, an SpO2 sensor, NFC functionality, and remote smartphone camera control.
The alleged domestic price for the Mi Band 5 in China, at 189 yuan (US$27), shows that Gearbest’s current offer of US$39.99 for the Chinese variant of the Xiaomi wearable doesn’t seem to be too way off the mark, after considering the additional cost expected when shipping and selling to international customers. The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 will be officially announced on June 11 and is scheduled to go on sale from June 18.
