The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 was officially put on sale in China on June 18, and it appears that the new wearable from the Chinese OEM has already sold out, at least via first-party channels. The Chinese Mi store is reporting that both the NFC and non-NFC variants of the Mi Band 5 are now temporarily out of stock, with new supplies arriving by June 30.
However, there are other sources for shoppers who desperately want to get their hands on the latest and greatest from the Xiaomi Mi Band range. There are numerous retailers working via AliExpress selling the Mi Band 5 activity tracker, although it's important to be sure you make a purchase from a reputable dealer. It is possible to pick up a non-NFC variant of the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 (Chinese version) for US$31.99 to US$33.99, depending on coupons etc.
Free shipping is available to countries like the USA and UK, but Mi Band 5 buyers will have to be patient and wait until at least mid-July for their package to arrive, which should be around the same time as the global variant known as the Mi Smart Band 5 will be released. However, as the official Chinese prices for the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 are 229 yuan (US$32) and 189 yuan (US$27) for the NFC and non-NFC models, respectively, then the prices found on third-party outlets like AliExpress are actually quite competitive.
