Amazing Xiaomi Mi TV, Redmi K30 Pro, and Mi 10 sales help Xiaomi gross over 10 billion yuan (US$1.4 billion) during the 618 shopping festival
Xiaomi has cemented its domestic popularity with some statistics starting to be revealed about the recently ended 618 shopping festival in China. Xiaomi executive and Redmi boss Lu Weibing has posted several images depicting just how well the Chinese OEM and its subsidiary performed during the 18 days of sales. The company grossed in excess of 10 billion yuan (US$1.4 billion) and staggeringly took up the top 256 sales positions measured across the retailers Jingdong (JD.com), Suning, and Tmall.
Smartphone sales were boosted by the presence of the Redmi K30 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10 devices. In one chart shared by Lu Weibing, the top three most popular 5G smartphones in terms of sales were all from Xiaomi and Redmi: Redmi K30 Pro (#1), Xiaomi Mi 10 (#2), and Redmi K30 (#3). According to reports, more than 10,000 units from both the Redmi K30 and Xiaomi Mi 10 ranges were sold during the 618 promotion period.
However, it wasn’t just smartphones raking in all that cash for Xiaomi. The Xiaomi Mi TV range was the most popular smart television series over the 618 festival, with the 43-inch, 60-inch, 70-inch, and 75-inch sets selling particularly well. Over 10,000 Xiaomi Mi TVs were sold in a period of 37 seconds, while it has been reported that the company grossed 100 million yuan (US$14.1 million) in just 14 minutes of promotions alone. Other big sellers for the Chinese OEM included the just-released Xiaomi Mi Band 5 activity tracker and the Redmi 10X smartphone.
