Xiaomi planning ahead with the Mi Mix 10 and MIUI 15
The question of whether there will be another device in the Xiaomi Mi Mix series has seemingly been answered in the affirmative. Although there have been Mi Mix 4 and Mi Mix 2020-related leaks lately, nothing has been confirmed by the OEM itself. But with a sticker adorned with the text “Mix 10” being utilized in a recent Xiaomi security and privacy awareness event, it appears there is going to be a Mi Mix 4…and a Mi Mix 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10!
Along similar lines, another sticker used at the Xiaomi event mentioned MIUI 15. This is obviously less of a surprise, as Xiaomi is already up to MIUI 12. However, MIUI 15 at least points to Xiaomi sticking with its Android overlay over the next few years rather than completely overhauling and renaming the skin. You could even take it in a remarkably tenuous manner that Xiaomi remains confident of retaining Google Services over the next few years, unlike Huawei, although that fact doesn’t seem to have completely destroyed the latter Chinese OEM anyway.
Of course, the appearance of phrases for the Mi Mix 10 and MIUI 15 on wall stickers at a Xiaomi event doesn’t mean anything particularly concrete, apart from that both the smartphone and software should be developed with user security and privacy as key factors (presuming the Mi Mix line isn’t discontinued in the meantime). Now all we need is Xiaomi to “leak” the Xiaomi Mi 15 and Xiaomi Mi Note 50 (the latter already leapt from Note 3 to Note 10 anyway) and we have the company’s product roadmap for years to come.
