Xiaomi has reported that all MIUI 12 beta updates will be suspended during the Dragon Boat Festival. The Chinese public holiday is on June 25 this year, and Xiaomi’s MIUI 12-related work will be halted from June 26 until July 2. The Chinese OEM normally releases beta updates for its smartphones on a weekly basis.

While there are many Xiaomi smartphone owners around the world eagerly expecting the latest MIUI 12 update, the company behind such popular devices as the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Redmi Note 8 has informed its forum users that MIUI 12 beta updates will be suspended for a short period:

Due to Dragon Boat Festival, MIUI China Beta ROM Update will be suspended from 26-06-2020 to 02-07-2020 and will be resumed on 03-07-2020.

MIUI 12 was officially launched in April 2020 (initial beta release was 20.4.27) and can be used as an overlay for either Android 9.0 or Android 10. The latest beta release was 20.6.18, so those regularly making sure their Xiaomi phone has the most recent MIUI 12 software shouldn’t miss too much while the Dragon Boat Festival is on.

The latest MIUI 12 beta update fixed some crash issues reported by Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 10, and Mi 10 Pro owners and also added a few camera features, such as AI Watermark and new green, orange, and black ice filters. There was also an updated security patch for Xiaomi smartphones that were set to receive the latest release.
