Xiaomi teases Redmi 9 with 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and a new eye-catching Pink colourway ahead of June 24 launch

The Redmi 9 will launch in China tomorrow, Xiaomi has confirmed on Weibo. The company will host a Redmi 9 pre-sale from 10:00 China Standard Time (CST - UTC+08:00), although it is yet to announce how much it will initially charge for the device. The Redmi 9 is already available to order in other markets like Spain, where it currently costs as little as €139 for the version with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.

Xiaomi is not bringing this model to China, though. Instead, it will launch the Redmi 9 with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. This model will complement the 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage edition that Xiaomi already sells in Spain. As we previously reported, Xiaomi will release the Redmi 9 in two new colours too. The marketing materials that Xiaomi has published on its Redmi Weibo account suggests that it will be bringing four colours to its home market, including the pink edition that Ishan Agarwal and 91Mobiles leaked a few days ago. The pair claimed that Xiaomi would release a Neon Blue version too, so it could be the case that five colour options will be unveiled tomorrow.

Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Chinese edition of the Redmi 9 will sport a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, a 5,020 mAh battery and a 6.53-inch display that operates natively at 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. Additionally, the device supports 18 W fast charging and would appear to have the same cameras as its European sibling.
