Xiaomi has revealed that the regular MIUI 12 beta updates for the Xiaomi Mi 10, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro have been suspended for the time being as the smartphones migrate to Android 11. The same trio was recently affected by a MIUI 12 suspension due to code optimization requirements. MIUI 12 beta updates are to be postponed over the Dragon Boat Festival period anyway, but in this case the reason is because these devices are moving on up in the operating system hierarchy.
Android 11 beta has only just been released, and it makes sense for Xiaomi to want to utilize the OS on its flagship range. The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro were obviously the first choices, but just as the Redmi K30 Pro received its most recent stable MIUI 12 update, it was announced that the smartphone would join the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro for promotion to Android 11 beta 1. Download links for both the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro can be found via the Xiaomi forum.
Thanks to the Poco F2 Pro being a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro for the global market, owners of the former can also get their hands on Android 11 firmware via a link provided by PiunikaWeb. However, as the source is careful to point out, Google Services will not be available as the update is specifically for Chinese devices. But with an Android 11 beta update already released for the Redmi K30 Pro it’s only a matter of time before the Poco F2 Pro gets its own official update.
